Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Receiving & Quality Control Technician. This position performs inspection of all inbound materials and components used in the manufacture of life safety devices. The candidate must be organized, productive, and able to multi-task in order to meet deadlines. The candidate will also need the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and must be able to work independently. This is a full-time position located in our Boulder, CO warehouse.

Key Responsibilities


  • Responsibilities include meeting and unloading truck deliveries and handling all required receiving documentation
  • Check, verify and audit incoming shipments by unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and corresponding with the Supply Chain Manager to rectify damages and shortages
  • Ensure acceptable parts are identified, stored and labeled properly. Maintain and organize inventory
  • Operate company forklift
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories as directed

Quality Assurance

  • Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies, or finished products according to well defined criteria using physical, mechanical, and/or electrical measurements
  • Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures
  • Assist in documenting nonconforming materials and process discrepancies
  • Ensure proper operation and calibration of precision measurement equipment
  • Document QA immediately upon delivery and maintain QA records with the assistance of the Manufacturing Engineer and/or Supply Chain Manager
  • Performs other related duties as directed

Skills / Requirements

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn in-house computer systems
  • Previous forklift operation experience required
  • Mechanical aptitude desired
  • Working knowledge of precision measurement instruments including digital calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Previous experience in manufacturing & assembly
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully execute multiple assignments simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail
  • Self-directed, motivated and takes initiative
  • Ability to solve problems and bring new ideas to the team in order to increase revenue, increase efficiencies, and/or reduce cost
